WANTED: Thinkers & Doers to Speak @ TEDxYouth 2016


Buffalo, NY (January 5, 2016): TEDxYouth@Buffalo, an independently organized TED event, is seeking

speakers for its 2016 conference. Entering its third year, this year’s conference entitled “Empower YOUth”

aims to highlight the breadth of powerful talent that helps shape our local communities. Ideal applicants

will have a dynamic story or message to share with the conference’s target audience of 16-24 year olds.

Hosted by Adriana “ADRI.V” Viverette-Gamble of WBLK and Say Yes to Education, TEDxYouth 2016 will

take place Tuesday, April 19, 2016, from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Mildred Campbell Social Hall on

the Campus of SUNY Buffalo State – 1300 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY.

The conference audition process is now open to the public and targeted at both student and adult

participants. Speakers are provided with coaches to support and assist in tailoring their messages for the

TEDxYouth@Buffalo audience and are required to participate in multiple rehearsals and interviews as

necessary. All speakers must be available on Tuesday, April 19 from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm in order to


To submit an application, please provide a 2-minute video pitch on your topic and/or performance idea

highlighting your special “power” that helps empower local youth. Details on video submissions can be

Submissions are due by 12:00 pm on Friday, January 29, 2016 for consideration.
